June kits

are here!!
I know I say with every month but this kit rocks....it's different somehow...
I think it's the mixture of yellow and kraft together, or maybe it's the mixture of the different textures of paper...the thick cardstock and the kraft core paper and the cork sheet!
What ever it is....it's going to be a blast to work with it this month!
Just to mention as well...we have a few new subscribers this month, welcome :) so this kit is sold out.
If you would like to subscribe for the July kit (which is hot!!!)  send me an email and I will guarantee you a fabulous kit :)

May Kit layout by Jenny

Hi everyone!! :)

Jenny here to share a layout I made using the May Kit that features the super amazing collection - Echo Park This and That: Charming!!!!

These colors are some of my all-time favorites!! They work so well together, and I love that this collection works for sports, but isn't overly sporty, lol!!

I used some foam adhesive to pop up different parts of the layout, I am really into that right now!! :)

I hope you all enjoyed your May kit as much as I did, and I hope you all are looking forward to the June kit!! It is amazing!!! :D

Thanks so much for stopping by Boys Rule today!!

A project by our guest...

So Stephanie made the coolest thing!
She picked up an unfinished pencil holder from the dollar store and covered it with scraps of paper and deco-page!  How clever!

Little Boy kit layout by Abby!

Hi! I was suppose to post yesterday, but wow.. my week has been so crazy I forgot what day it was! School/work is now finished for the summer and now all my days just blend into each other lol Anyway.. here's a layout I created with the May "Little Boy" kit :)

This is my super adorable nephew, who is without a doubt, 100% all boy! He's always getting into some kind of trouble, little mischief maker :) The May Little Boy kit contains the uber cute Bo Bunny "On the go" collection.. definitely one of my all time faves!

I used a sketch by the fabulously talented Diana Fisher who is guest designing at The Paper Variety. Love all her sketches!

Be sure to visit us tomorrow.. there will be a new sketch challenge! Woot! :)

May Big Boy Kit: A card by Jenny

Hi everyone!!

Jenny here today to share a card I made using the May main kit!

Since school is ending soon for my son, I decided to put together a card for him...a congratulations card for being so darn smart!! ;)

His school is having an awards assembly Tuesday morning, so I figured I would give it to him after that was over...maybe have a nice, little surprise in it, too!! :D

I used quite a bit of green on the card, his favorite color! I love all the "educational" elements to this collection, and they worked perfectly for what I was wanting!

Don't forget to check out the current sketch challenges that are going on now...you can find them on the right sidebar ------------->

Also, if you didn't see the winner of the April RAK, you can view that HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by Boys Rule today!!

Sketch Layout by Abby

Hi everyone, hope you all are having a great week! Today I'm sharing a layout I created following Jenny's awesome May11 sketch. I really love all of Jenny's sketches, she has a wonderful talent for design. :)

I absolutely love the Boys Rule May kit! I know I say that every month lol, but it's true.. every month. May's Little Boy kit is just the stinkin' cutest collection I've ever played with for boys. No doubt! I put together this page featuring my son and his visit to our local rural fire dept.

I love all the gears, traffic signs and other embellies.. so many cute little additions to play with.

I also created a fun notecard adding chipboard and some doodles. That little cab is so adorable!!

The May Little Boy kit is sold out.. I hope many of you were able to snatch it up! It really is my favorite :)

Have a great evening!!

April winner....

hello friends....
sorry for the delay in this post!  I would like to congratulate Sandi Pressley for being our sketch RAK winner for April!!!
Send me your address Sandi and I will pop your gift in the mail to you :)

The ATC information will be posted on the weekend, I have set up a separate blog so we can post comments and such about our project.
I can't wait to get started on those!

I'm heading over to Buffalo on Friday to attend CKC!  I'm so excited!  I have not had a scrappy day like that in a long time and I am so looking forward to it!
Do any of you attend CKC?  I am taking 3 classes this year, one of them is the SMASH book class.  I don't have a smash book yet so this will be my first.  Not really sure what to do with my SMASH book yet, I'm thinking it might be an "everyday" life kind of scrappy journal/book/thingy...LOL
I'm sure I'll figure it out soon enough :)
Thanks for stopping by :)

phone book....

It hit me the other day that I should make this for Josh...his own phone book.   He is a little older now and can read names but I thought it would be easier for him if I included a photo of the person with their phone numbers beside it.   Especially for the grand parents as their names (Grandpa and Grand-papa) are really close, so not to get the names mixed up I put in their photos.

I used this month's Echo Park kit and my bind it all to put it all together.  Those little journal cards were perfect for this little project.

Here is one of the inner pages ...

and another :)

The ATC swap will close tonight, I think we are around 12 or so, if you would still like to join us comment here or email me :)

Thanks for stopping by...check in soon as the DT will have plenty to share this month :)

Layout with the May Little Boy kit by Abby

As soon as I saw Bo Bunny's "On the Go" collection, I knew it was a must have.. and I was so excited to receive it as part of May's Little Boy kit here at Boys Rule. This kit is so colorful and fun, perfect for any little boy.. big boys, too! Here is a layout I created using these great papers and embellies..

This was so fun to make.. it features my toddler nephew who is "always on the go"! At first, I wanted to title this page 'always on green' lol but I didn't have enough room. Oh well, I think it turned out just great anyway :) I also created a video if you'd like to see how this page came together - you can find it here.

Thanks for visiting Boys Rule today!

happy you know what day....

I bet you all have been busy scrapbooking today....unlike myself...but I do still have time to go down to my scraproom and make a card or something but fact of the matter is, I'm beat!  Busy day here today, it's Josh's birthday today and he has a friend here spending the weekend with us so we have some special activities lined up for his birthday.  We also had company for dinner today too, which meant I had to clean the house!  I force myself to have company every three weeks so the house gets a proper cleaning ...LOL...so my scrappy time for me....
I was just checking out a few favorite blogs tonight and I saw this at BoBunny! A sketch by Kristine Davidson!  Awesome!  So everyone who picked up the BoBunny kit this month should give that sketch a go.
I also popped in over at Echo Park and found tons of challenges posted for National Scrapbooking day...wow!  Check them out here.
So far we have 11 signed up for the ATC swap (Sandi is one of the 11 but is not sure yet as she wanted to see examples :)  did you see them?  I posted some earlier, just leave a comment if you would like to join us Sandi)  Good number so far!  Thank you all for.. joining us, and it is open until next Sunday so leave a comment or email me at boysrulekits@hotmail.com if you are interested.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

these boys....

I love this photo of my son and his friend, I think I have used it a few times...

I made this with the Echo Park kit.

Good response to the ATC swap, I'm excited about that!
Here are a few pictures of the ATC's I have in my album...

Here is an explanation of ATC's cards.

Basically to create small works of art on a standard size card (31/2x21/2) they all must be the same size.  You can create anything you want, but our theme is boys...which keeps it wide open really.   You will put your name and city on the back of the card, we will talk more about that later.
The cards will fit nicely into a baseball card sheet, I
into a binder.  Keeps them neat.
So that's it really, I so excited to see we have some girls who have not made them before but wish to participate....wonderful!!

We will keep the ATC swap sign up open unitl next Sunday (May 13) and you email me at boysrulekits@hotmail.com if you wish to particiapate.   I will contact those who have left comments already in the ATC post so they know what is going on.   I will do that early next week.

I have a very busy weekend coming up, it's Josh's never ending birthday weekend (which includes friends, the movies, dinner..etc), National Scrapbooking Day and we are celebrating Mother's Day for my mom this Sunday.

Thanks for checking in!

Laura-Lee
